SAERA Come & Try Endurance Day
Location: Mount Crawford Dressage Club 100 Cowell Road, Mount Crawford
Entries close 18 February 2026 at 10:00pm
A relaxed, educational and welcoming day for new riders, returning members, and anyone wanting to start the season with a positive training ride
- BYO chair
- Buckets for horse water (some of your own water if your horse is picky)
- All required feed/hay for your horse
- Yard - electric or panels - panels must be secured to the ground with a star dropper (some fixed yards available to book)
- Camping equipment if staying
- Dogs on leads
- Forest permit FORESTRY PASS- All riders must have a current Forestry Horse Riding Permit, either an Annual / Day Permit - visit https://forestrysa1.rezdy.com/catalog/374170/horse-riding and keep a record of your booking/permit number
- Completed TPR paperwork- if wishing to complete the TPR school
- Stethoscope & thermometer
- All rubbish, manure and hay to be bagged and taken home - please bring your own bags.
At official endurance events all horses require a 4 day temperature log - 3 days prior to event + day of event prior to travel - give it a go for the come and try to practice for the real thing - see Horse Health Declaration form attached

7:00am - Gates Open (or camping available Friday night by arrangement only)

RIDE TIME
- 5km to 15km ride
- Marked course
- Ride up to 15km
- Option to turn off to make 5km
- Supported by mentors throughout the group
- Focus: relaxed pacing, confidence, learning
- Ride duration: approx. 1.5 hours
- Expected return: approx. 12:30pm – 1:00pm

TPR School
- Hands-on practical session:
- How to take temperature, pulse, respiration
- What normal looks like
- Why being a TPR is important in endurance
- Become a registered TPR Steward
- Participants can practice on their own horses.
Overnight Option- stay overnight for no additional cost
Stay overnight Enjoy a relaxed evening with their horse Ride out casually the next day at their own leisure, use as familiarisation, a training ride or just a social outing with new friends.
