At approximately 10am riders will head out on the marked 16km track. There will be experienced riders on hand to mentor and give general wisdom and support. There is no cut off time but most riders would have finished in 2 hours As much as possible new riders will be assisted in strapping their horses when finished and invited to a mock vetting where horse’s heart rate will be taken followed by a trot up. Once everyone is back and lunched there will be a debrief and Q&A session with a few surprises, so don’t be in a mad rush to race home.
What to bring:
- Food for you and your horse
- Human drinking water. There will be a water trailer on site for horses filled with mains water. If you know your horse is a fussy drinker its advisable to bring some from home, especially if warm. Buckets & sponges
- Empty feed bags so you can take manure and leftover hay home
- Happy, smiley faces
